Quality antique mahogany eight-day Grandfather clock on eight bells having a very attractive mahogany case with an elegantly carved swan neck pediment and arched door to the hood flanked by turned columns, gilded brass Corinthian capitals, and brass grills to the sides. It boasts a long mahogany door with a moulded edge to the case flanked by reeded columns with brass capitals above a moulded panel and standing on a plinth base. The movement having a spectacular ornate brass face with an engraved silvered chapter ring and brass numbers, original hands and second hand, small chapter ring for eight bells or four bells in the arched top. The eight-day movement strikes on the hour and half-hour on a gong and eight or four bells playing on the quarter, half, three quarters and hour, three original weights, pendulum, and key. Signed by the maker Winsor Bishop of Norwich.
